Charles Town, WV (December, 20, 2023) – West Virginia Soccer announces the Winter Futsal Academy at Potomac Gym (11 Tabernacle Way, Falling Waters, WV 25419).
Futsal, an indoor soccer variant played on a fast, hard surface, emphasizes technical skills. Open to ages 7-18, this program offers players of all levels a chance to enhance their game during the winter.
Inty Andre, Technical Director and MLS NEXT coach, expressed the importance of futsal for players’ development. “Futsal is beneficial to players’ development in a way that it helps to improve technical skills such as ball control, passing technique, dribbling, 1v1 skills, as well as improving players’ speed of play and decision making. Futsal also encourages players to think outside the box. It brings out their creative side. Not to mention it is so much fun,” said Inty, emphasizing the importance of futsal.
Each session, led by West Virginia Soccer’s professional coaching staff, includes 15-20 minutes of technical training plus futsal games.
