Charles Town, WV (September, 15, 2023) – The U13 team faced a challenging start, in their first MLS Next Game, ultimately losing 3-0. Despite their determination and hard work, they couldn’t secure a victory. It was a tough match against a formidable opponent (Achilles). This initial setback provides a learning opportunity for the young players as they adapt to the competitive MLS Next environment.
In contrast, the U14 team encountered an unexpected turn of events in their first game.
The match was canceled during half-time due to unexpected weather, and as a result the opposing team was awarded a 2-0 win. This cancelation was undoubtedly disappointing for their season opener.
As they progress through the MLS Next season, these setbacks will serve as crucial building blocks for their growth as soccer players, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and a positive mindset in the face of challenges on the field.
