Norfolk, VA ( March 21st, 2025) – The VBCITYFC Academy I 2009B team continues to showcase their dominance, securing a 2-1 victory over Beach FC ECNL RL 2009B in the final of the Beach FC Tournament. This latest victory further solidify their reputation as one of the top teams in the region.
In their last six tournaments, the team has claimed four championship titles and finished as finalists in the other two, demonstrating consistency and competitiveness. Their performance in this event, along with the upcoming update in USYS League Standings, is expected to put them into the Top 10 in GotSport rankings for Virginia, the Top 35 in USYS Region 1, and the Top 100 nationally. Currently, they sit at #12 in Virginia, #55 in Region 1, and #152 in the nation. The only team ahead of them in the state outside of Northern Virginia is Virginia Velocity FC (#5) out of Richmond.
Adding to their list of achievements, VBCITYFC Academy I 2009B is one of only three 2009B teams to qualify for the prestigious Jefferson Cup, one of the most competitive youth soccer tournaments on the East Coast. With the event set for next weekend, the team is getting ready to make another strong statement against top-tier competition.
