Norfolk, VA (December 10th, 2024) –Virginia Skyline Soccer Club thrives on a mission of growth—both for its players and the larger community. Coach Daude Teel embodies this purpose, combining a passion for teaching with a dedication to unlocking untapped potential in the local soccer scene.
A Love for Teaching, Transformed into Coaching
For Daude, the journey to coaching began with a discovery: “I love to teach, and didn’t find my love for coaching until I realized the former,” he reflected. “I’ve been privileged to learn from some innovative minds, both on and off the field.”
But what truly fuels his passion is witnessing the joy of discovery in his players. “The gleam of excitement seen in someone’s eyes when they figure something out—it’s priceless. As an instructor, you get to share a piece of that joy.”
Building Confidence, One Player at a Time
When asked about the core value he hopes to instill in his players, Daudee’s message is clear: trust. “Trust yourselves. The game starts there,” he emphasized.
He encourages his players to face challenges head-on. “If you doubt you can make that pass or that shot, chances are you’ll miss. Mistakes will happen, but self-sabotage need not.”
For Daude, individual confidence naturally evolves into trust within the team. “Trust in yourself inevitably becomes trust in both the group and the process,” he shared.
Breaking Barriers, Creating Opportunities
Virginia Skyline Soccer Club’s mission resonates deeply with Daudee, who sees limitless potential in the region. “Everything is about opportunity,” he said. “If the opportunity is presented and there are minimal barriers to entry, we create more soccer players, more engaged parents, friends, and relatives, and the potential to become even better at what we do.”
Coach Daude believes the area’s soccer talent has only scratched the surface of what’s possible. “I’ve always known our area has potential for player development and community engagement. It was just a matter of tapping into it. And there’s so much yet untapped that I do believe this organization can unlock.”
